Subterranean Drainage Operations Technician
Location: Blackreach Sector 4, Deep Works Division
Assignment Type: Full-Time / Indefinite Placement
Reports To: Regional Excavation Authority
Overview
Salerno Earthworks is currently accepting applications for subterranean drainage operations within the Blackreach Stormwater System. This application process exists for personnel who prefer role visibility prior to placement, though ongoing participation in the broader Earthworks apparatus is already presumed.
This assignment supports drainage, stabilization, excavation, runoff diversion, and hydraulic control in deep-environment infrastructure zones beneath the surface grid. Conditions include darkness, saturation, unstable footing, restricted passages, low-clarity acoustics, and recurring contact with sites not originally intended for habitation or record.
Those selected for this role will help maintain hydraulic order in one of the most operationally sensitive underground territories under Salerno administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain pumps, diversion channels, retaining systems, overflow routes, and emergency drainage controls
- Identify water intrusion, seepage migration, wall instability, void formation, and pressure buildup
- Support excavation and containment teams during flood response and subsurface breach events
- Record anomalies in runoff behavior, structural movement, and unclassified underground findings
- Assist in stabilization and controlled expansion into newly serviceable cavern sectors
- Maintain uninterrupted compliance with tracking, radio, descent, and presence-verification protocols
Required Qualifications
- Experience in drainage, tunneling, trenching, mining, excavation, underground utilities, or hazardous field conditions preferred
- Ability to work prolonged shifts in confined, wet, low-light environments
- Reliable command compliance under stress, noise, and uncertain visibility
- Tolerance for psychologically erosive environments and altered sense of scale
- Capacity to descend repeatedly without requiring explanation beyond operational necessity
Work Conditions
- No meaningful daylight exposure during assignment hours
- Constant moisture, mud, haze, and particulate presence
- Rotational and overnight deployment
- Possible exposure to vertical drops, unstable ruins, contaminated water, fungal overgrowth, and unreconciled site history
- Surface readjustment may be limited after long-cycle assignment
Provisions & Medical Eligibility
- Assigned ration access based on attendance and productivity
- Deep-site exposure differential
- Equipment and protective gear issued according to availability and rank
- Standard medical triage eligibility
- Premium Healthcare available only to select high-value underground personnel and may include N100 respiratory protection allocation
The water below will continue to move whether managed or not. We prefer managed. Personnel who can keep order where light fails are encouraged to formalize their assignment.
